Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Even though it was delayed for a long time, the winner of the 2020 Innovative Regional Head election in South Sumatra who was fighting for the trophy of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) was finally announced on Wednesday (11/18/20) in the afternoon virtually from the South Sumatra Provincial Government Command Center. Not only attended by the Minister of Home Affairs, Prof. H.M. Tito Karnavian, the election which was held by the Daily Sumatra Ekspress was also attended directly by the number one person in South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru.
In his remarks H. Herman Deru said that this announcement should have been reported immediately, especially since the assessment was carried out also very objectively by those who were competent.
“I am very grateful and hope that the Ministry of Home Affairs and Sumeks group can continue the assessment program. And we should be proud because this assessment is truly independent,” he explained.
He also hopes that the innovations that have been made by regional heads who have won can accelerate the rate of welfare of the people in South Sumatra. As well as election activities can be carried out continuously even at the Regency / City level.
“And maybe this could be a role model at the national level,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs, Prof. H.M Tito Karnavian, said that apart from being a native, he is very supportive of this activity because it can motivate all regional heads to develop the South Sumatra Province.
Moreover, said Tito, with the current decentralization policy, regional heads also have special authority for autonomy. In fact, this provides wider space for cadres to become regional leaders elected by the people and be able to develop their respective regions with the characters they know.
To the winners, the Minister of Home Affairs has also prepared special prizes for each of the Mandiri Dukcapil Pavilion. To the winners, Tito advised three things. According to him as a leader. Not only power is needed but also followers, namely the people and also the concept of regional development. So that the regions do not always depend on the center.
The winners of the 2020 Innovative Regional Head Election respectively, namely 1st place won by Palembang City, 2nd place won by Musi Rawas Regency and 3rd place winner Muara Enim Regency. As well as Muba Regency with the best commitment and exposure category.
