17 District/City Anti-Drug Ambassadors in South Sumatra Inaugurated Simultaneously

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru attended and witnessed the inauguration of the Anti-Drug Ambassadors for 17 Regencies/Cities in South Sumatra.

The inauguration was carried out by the South Sumatra Anti-Drug Ambassador, Ratu Tenny Leriva directly at Griya Agung Palembang.

In his speech HD said that he was very enthusiastic to attend the activity, it was because to see firsthand the feasibility of the selected finalists both physically and intellectually about the dangers of drugs.

“I asked for this event to be held and centered in the pride of the South Sumatran residents, namely Griya Agung. I am also very enthusiastic to attend so that I can see the eligibility of the selected finalists”, said HD.

HD also emphasized that drug trafficking and abuse in South Sumatra must be eradicated and this is a shared responsibility, especially the inaugurated Anti-Drug Ambassadors.

“This is a joint task. Anti-Drug Ambassadors can at least prevent drug use at their age and environment”, said HD.

Related to this, HD instructed all Anti-Drug Ambassadors to be able to enter all elements of society and provide knowledge about the dangers of drugs and educate them not to use drugs.

HD also asked the Regents and Mayors in 17 Regencies/Cities to be able to provide travel expenses assistance to the Anti-Drug Ambassadors in carrying out their duties and functions.

Also present was the Chairman of the South Sumatra YLKI, RM. Taufik Husni, MA, SH, Director of Drug Investigation at the South Sumatra Police, Kombespol Heri Istu Haryono, S.Si, Plt. Assistant I for Government & People’s Welfare, Dr. H. Rosyidin Hasan, M.Pdi. (mhn/ril)
