Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru said the medical profession has an important role in providing health services for all levels of society in all corners of the region. For this reason, Governor Herman Deru hopes that the students who have completed their medical education will be ready to provide health services to the people in the villages.
“The problem regarding health workers, including doctors, is the distribution. In quantity, there are many doctors. However, the distribution is not evenly distributed. I ask this medical alumni not only to choose to work in urban areas, but also to be ready to serve in villages,” said Herman Deru while attending the inauguration of the Sriwijaya University (Unsri) Faculty of Medicine students at the Azwar Agoes Building, Unsri Madang Medical Faculty, Tuesday (15/2).
According to him, people in remote villages really need a doctor.
Especially in the current pandemic situation. Doctors have a big role to play in fighting the epidemic. Not only about health, but also alertness in providing education
On the other hand, Herman Deru also advised the Faculty of Medicine Unsri to continue to improve its graduates so that they can remain competitive.
It is known that the inauguration was also made to Ratu Tenny Leriva who is the youngest daughter of Governor Herman Deru. Ratu Tenny is a medical student at Unsri. (ojn/ril)
