Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru opened the 2022 Sriwijaya Goldfish Competition at the OPI Mall Palembang Atrium, Saturday (26/2).
Various types of Mas Koki fish, were shown in the competition initiated by the Mas Koki Palembang Community.
Governor Herman Deru welcomed the holding of the 2022 Sriwijaya Goldfish Competition. Where in addition to adding insight, this activity is considered to be able to educate the public regarding how to cultivate goldfish.
Although it looks simple, Herman Deru said, goldfish cultivation requires discipline and thoroughness.
He considered, during this pandemic, hobbies such as goldfish cultivation have become a special attraction for some people.
He said that the goldfish business is not focused on selling the results of its cultivation, however, its development techniques, feed, and a place to maintain it such as an aquarium can also be used as a home business.
Moreover, according to him, the innovation of developing goldfish is currently being carried out by millennials.
It is known, goldfish production in South Sumatra in 2020 reached 285,000 heads. The data shows that the people of South Sumatra have high enthusiasm for goldfish.
Also attending the event were the Head of the Mas Koki Palembang Committee, Sualbet Jekmin, the Banyuasin Police Chief AKBP Imam Syafe’i, and a number of OPD heads in the South Sumatra Provincial Government. (ojn/ril)
