Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru distributed prizes as well as closed the 2022 South Sumatra Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament which had been successfully held.
Through that opportunity, HD said that the Golf Tournament which was held was a series of activities to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the South Sumatra Province. , said HD.
HD also encourages the Organizing Committee to always improve and use existing deficiencies as learning material so that the next tournament can run well and perfectly.
“Because we have the spirit of wanting this to be perfect, of course, this event still has shortcomings. However, this can be a reference for us as a committee to try to cover it up and perfect it,” said HD.
HD also appreciates the creativity carried out by the Palembang Golf Club (PGC) in managing the Kenten Golf Course so that the assets of the Government and Pertamina can be maintained and utilized properly.
In addition, HD also called on all golf tournament participants who were present to be able to change the public’s mindset about the sport of golf so that it is no longer considered an expensive sport.
“In addition to changing the mindset, I will also include this sport in every school, so that we can do early childhood nurseries. PGC must also be able to facilitate young seeds with potential so that they can become professional athletes in South Sumatra”, concluded HD.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the PGC (Palembang Golf Club) Management Board, Ir. H. Syahrial Oesman expressed his gratitude for the support given by the Governor of South Sumatra, so that the activity ran successfully and smoothly.
He also said that later PGC would also hold a similar tournament by inviting all golf players in Indonesia. (mhn/ril)
