Governor HD accompanies the Vice President in his second day of work in Palembang

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru accompanied the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. (H.C) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin during his second day of work in Palembang, South Sumatra, Wednesday (7/9) to inaugurate the opening of the XIX Plenary Session of the Association of Business and Economics Faculties (AFEBI) and the 2022 Halal Summit, at the Whyndam Hotel Jakabaring Palembang.

In his speech, the number two in Indonesia said that Indonesia had been independent for 77 years and had experience in navigating various types of economic crises and socio-political crises. Looking back in 2008, the global financial sector had collapsed, triggered by the economic crisis in the US and Europe as well as a spike in food and energy prices.

In the same place, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru said that considering global and national economic conditions as well as various early indicators, South Sumatra’s economic growth in 2022 is estimated to be higher than in 2021.

In fact, according to him, improvement in global and domestic economic activity has boosted the performance of the South Sumatran economy, both in terms of demand and in the business field.

The acceleration and expansion of the vaccination program also fosters optimism in business actors and boosts performance in several sectors.

Meanwhile, South Sumatra’s economic growth in 2022 is projected to grow in the range of 4.18% – 5.78% (yoy) which is supported by improvements in almost all components, especially consumption and investment, as well as improving performance in the business sector, including mining and trading. quarrying, LU for processing industry, LU for agriculture, forestry and fishery, and LU for wholesale and retail trade.

Meanwhile, inflation developments in 2022 are also expected to increase compared to 2021, but remain within the range of the national inflation target.

In addition to opening the plenary session, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin accompanied by the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru also reviewed a number of MSME stands around the event venue. (mhn/ril)
