Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Hj RA Anita Noeringhati was elected by acclamation as chairman of the Indonesian Bowling Association (PBI) South Sumatra (South Sumatra) for the 2022-2026 period.
The election of the first female South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) chairman was in a provincial meeting held at Pitsop Airport, Monday (27/6).
“For me, this mandate is certainly not just a position, but really a big responsibility to be able to develop, advance achievements and promote bowling in Sriwijaya Earth (south sumatra),” said the Golkar Party politician.
Anita hopes that this bowling sport will become popular in the future. Becoming a folk sport that can be played by all people, including university students and college students.
“Our target is also to attract athletes from an early age. Talking about South Sumatra facilities, there is no doubt that the level is no longer at the national level but at an international standard. But this is not directly proportional to the achievements of our athletes in National Sport Weeks (PON), Sea Games, Asian Games and other national and international events. We hope and become our target in the future, male and female athletes from South Sumatra can achieve better and more,” she said.
Meanwhile, South Sumatra Sports Committee (KONI) Secretary Suparman Roman appreciated the South Sumatra PBI and congratulated RA Anita on the election as chairman.
“Of course this will be a big hope for South Sumatra Boling, especially South Sumatra hopes that it will become a junior training center,” he said. (ojn/bbs)
