South Sumatra Legislative Chairperson Asks Coal Transportation to Use Double Track

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra (Sumsel) Legislative Council (DPRD) chairperson Hj RA Anita Noeringhati criticized the double track train in South Sumatra.

This Golkar Party politician hopes that Double Track can reach Lahat, but because coal transportation with the Regional Regulation (Perda) is not allowed through public roads, because the double track owned, especially PT KAI, only cooperates with PT BA so other companies cannot enter as well.

“It has become our focus on how other companies outside of PT BA can use double track,” she said when conducting a recess for members of the South Sumatra DPRD phase II 2022 for the Palembang City Dapil 1, Tuesday (12/7) at the Regional Division (Divre) III Palembang office, PT. Indonesian Railways (KAI) Persero.

The group was led by the chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD, Hj RA Anita Noeringhati from the Golkar Party, with other members Prima Salam from Gerindra, H Kartak SAS from PKB, Mgs Syaiful Padli from PKS, Dedi Siprianto from the PDI-P and H Chairul S Matdiah from the Democratic Party.

Present Deputy Head of Regional Division III Palembang Januri and the ranks, Head of South Sumatra LRT, Sigit Winarto.

In addition, she admitted that she was concerned because the coal owned by South Sumatra did not go to South Sumatra but to Tarahan, Lampung to be taken out.

“Hopefully the Tanjung Carat port will be realized soon, which at that time we were happy that the Tanjung Carat port had been approved by the President, but in 2021 or 2022 there will be a change in the president’s policy that the Tanjung Carat port can continue its construction but do not use the APBN but wait for investors to build the port. Tanjung Carat,” she said.

Her party also hopes that when the Tanjung Carat port is realized, PT KAI can invest in a double track to Tanjung Carat so that all modes of transportation can be accommodated, efficiently and can be enjoyed by companies and the people of South Sumatra.

Regarding the babaranjang train crossing the intersection, it always causes traffic jams.

“We propose how the Minister of Transportation allocates Fly Over bridges so that the public is not disturbed and PT KAI can run smoothly. We see accidents at railroad crossings,” she said.

In addition, the former Chairman of Commission IV of the South Sumatra DPRD acknowledged that the Ministry of Transportation was limping in operating the LRT.

“From the beginning the LRT operation received a full subsidy from the Ministry of Transportation, even in 2019 or 2020 the ministry will stop the LRT subsidy but if this is stopped this will result in the LRT being not operating in South Sumatra, because actually the public interest from the airport to Jakabaring is indeed great but it is not followed from another LRT station,” she said.

And in 2022 it was launched by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) students and students to be able to enjoy the LRT at a very cheap price.

“We have all the health protocols on all lines because we have memorized it for two years and we have followed developments, but socialization is to increase people’s enjoyment of the LRT,” he said.

And PT KAI was appointed as the person in charge of the LRT because the LRT had not yet been handed over to the South Sumatra Province, so it was difficult to allocate APBD subsidies, especially the nomenclature.

“Commission V of the South Sumatra DPRD informed the Head of National Education about how there are visits to places such as museums via the LRT so that there is synergy between the South Sumatra Provincial Government and PT KAI,” he said.

Meanwhile, another member of the South Sumatra DPRD, Kartak hopes that PT KAI can pay attention to South Sumatra, which contributes a lot of funds to PT KAI by increasing CSR for Synse and not disguise the existing CSR.

In addition, he asked PT KAI’s slum housing in Kertapati to be considered so that it is not slum.

Head of Regional Division III Palembang Januri in the future for the Coal terminal in Kramasan while the port of Tarahan, Lampung lastly there was no development from PT BA.

“Besides that, his party has closed the railroad crossing gates that are not guarded at five points, the last example in Cambai, Prabumulih there was a pick-up breaking down on the rails, the driver escaped but his car was hit and dragged causing our train to catch fire and the next day we gathered, because of that The road is big and cannot be closed, then we coordinate with related parties and we agree that all stakeholders will carry out 24-hour security, including preparing costs and uniforms,” he said.

In addition, his party has a program with Prabumulih, Muara Enim for Fly Over development.

For the construction of crossing gates, there are four this year, and two large Fly Overs.

Januri acknowledged that PT KAI’s largest revenue from Divre III Palembang was around 25 percent to 27 percent, 36 percent from contributions from South Sumatra.

“For Rp. 3 billion, we got a total of Rp. 752 million in CSR this year, our area is from Kertapati, if you go towards Lahat, Tebing Tinggi to Lubuk Linggau, then continue towards Tanjung Karang from Prabumulih to Tanjung Rambang, if the direction of Tanjung Enim is stuck to the Tanjung Enim border, that is our area, now we have distributed 752 million CSR money,” he said.
