Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan ensured that prices for basic necessities remained stable in the community after the government raised the price of fuel oil (BBM) on September 3, 2022.
The Minister of Trade explained that President Joko Widodo had instructed local governments to help with transportation costs for basic necessities, especially for areas that experienced an increase in the price of basic goods by more than five percent.
“Local governments will help with transportation subsidies, so that prices of basic necessities can go down. So, this must be a concern so that it doesn’t become volatile,” said the Trade Minister in a statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Trade while monitoring the prices and availability of basic necessities at the Karang Ayu Market, Semarang, Central Java.
He explained that the government will continue to strive to keep food inflation under control through various efforts, starting from market operations, transportation subsidies, as well as optimizing the Maritime Outlet, Sea Toll and Air Bridge programs.
Thus, the Trade Minister is optimistic that he will be able to control price fluctuations, as was the effort to stabilize cooking oil, which has successfully recorded deflation in the last four months.
“I monitor the price of basic necessities every day. At Karang Ayu Market, the price of basic necessities is stable. For eggs, it continues to decline, in the market it is recorded at Rp. 27,000 per kg and we will continue to monitor it,” he explained.
Based on observations at the location, the price of medium rice was recorded at Rp. 10,000 per kilogram (kg), premium rice at Rp. 12,000 per kg, granulated sugar at Rp. 13,000 per kg, bulk cooking oil at Rp. 12,000 per liter, and cooking oil at Minyakita at Rp. 14,000. per liter, packaged cooking oil IDR 18,000 per liter, wheat flour IDR 12,500 per kg, beef IDR 130,000 per kg.
In addition, purebred chicken is Rp. 34,000 per kg, chicken eggs is Rp. 27,000 per kg, curly red chili is Rp. 60,000 per kg, large red chili is Rp. 55,000 per kg, red chili is Rp. 45,000 per kg, shallots are Rp. 30 .000 per kg, and garlic Rp. 20,000 per kg. (mhn/bbs)
