Beijing, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo visited the People’s Heroes Monument in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China on Tuesday to lay a wreath.
This activity is part of President Jokowi’s working visit to China.
President Jokowi stood in front of a bouquet of flowers and simultaneously listened to the national anthems of the two countries.
Next, he followed the wreath which was moved to the front of the People’s Heroes Monument.
Accompanied by the Indonesian delegation, President Jokowi then walked to the appointed point.
The delegates who participated were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises as Ad Interim Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Indonesian Ambassador to the PRC Djauhari Oratmangun, and Indonesian Defense Attaché in Beijing Brigadier General Mar. Benny P. Nadeak
When the song “Flowers to the Heroes” finished playing, Jokowi straightened the flower bouquet ribbon and paid his respects.
After paying his respects, President Jokowi then headed to a series of vehicles and then left Tiananmen Square. (mhn/bbs)
