UN, The Indonesia Post – A just solution to the Palestinian issue is very important for regional stability, said Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in his speech at the General Debate of the 78th United Nations (UN) General Assembly on Saturday (23 /9).
“Regional stability rests on a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian struggle… and the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,” said the Foreign Minister.
Faisal reiterated his country’s position on various Middle Eastern issues, including Yemen, saying that his country’s “peace initiative” aims to end the conflict there.
Security and stability are impossible without cooperation and coordination between countries to prevent an arms race to obtain destructive weapons, said Faisal, who also condemned all unilateral actions that violate international law. (mhn/bbs)
