100,000 Young Sultans: South Sumatra Governor’s Strategic Program to Improve the Economy

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province, Drs. H. Edward Candra, MH attended the Kick Off Program of 100,000 Young Sultans and the Young Sultan of South Sumatra Center (SMSC) with the Mass Media in South Sumatra (OJK Office Palembang, Friday, 9/5/2025).

The Kick Program of 100,000 Young Sultans and the Young Sultan of South Sumatra Center (SMSC) is a series of activities which will later be inaugurated directly by the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) on May 16, 2025.

This was explained by the Head of the OJK of South Sumatra Province, Arifin Susanto in his remarks. He also said that the governor’s initiation program was a strategic step in developing and utilizing the potential of natural resources (SDA) owned by South Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra who attended the kick off activity explained that the 100,000 Young Sultans program is one of the strategic programs of the Governor and Deputy Governor in reducing unemployment in South Sumatra.

“South Sumatra’s potential is extraordinary, its natural resources are extraordinary, so many can be utilized, such as Palm Oil, Rubber, and Coffee which we continue to promote through this program,” he said.

The Regional Secretary also conveyed the reasons why the 100,000 young sultans program must be implemented, because young people are more adaptive and easily absorb technological advances more quickly, so young startups are very creative in developing new businesses or traditional businesses that already exist in the community are developed by young sultans to become more modern.

“These young sultans will also later improve the local economy so that this impact will strengthen the local economy in South Sumatra,” said the Regional Secretary. (ojn/ril)
