Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Agus Fatoni is committed to supporting the Indonesia National Army (TNI) together with related OPDs in maintaining stability and security in the implementation of the 2024 Election in the South Sumatra Region.
This was expressed by Fatoni when he received the TK Expert Staff Officer. III Polkamnas Sector Commander of the TNI, Mr. Major General TNI (Mars) Siswoto, M.Tr. Opsla., and Expert Staff Officer Tk. II Kamconf. Communal for Polkamnas, Commander of the TNI, Mr. Brigadier General TNI Nurhabad, SH., MH., and his entourage during a friendly gathering at Griya Agung Palembang, Tuesday, (14/5/2024).
This hearing was held in the context of collecting data for making a study on the readiness of the TNI to maintain stability and security during the 2024 elections in the South Sumatra region.
“South Sumatra has long been known as an area with zero conflict. This is an acknowledgment from various parties. South Sumatra is also a tolerant and safe area. “For example, the previous elections took place safely,” he said.
South Sumatra is the parent of various provinces in South Sumatra. Other provinces are part of South Sumatra, namely Lampung, Jambi, even here are also the office centers for various large companies, both state-owned companies and also the regional military command, whose headquarters are here.
“We continue to maintain this by coordinating with Forkopimda and communicating according to our respective duties and functions to maintain this condition. “We are ready to support the security and success of the elections in South Sumatra,” he said.
According to Fatoni, the relationship between the South Sumatra Provincial Government and the South Sumatra Forkopimda has been well developed. And various coordination has been carried out with Bawaslu and KPI to make the elections in South Sumatra a success
Meanwhile, Expert Staff Officer Tk. III Polkamnas Sector Commander of the TNI, Mr. Major General TNI (Mars) Siswoto, M.Tr. Opsla., said that this hearing was carried out on orders from the TNI Commander regarding the regional government’s readiness to face the 2024 elections.
“We want to prepare how the pikada which will be implemented at the end of 2024 can be carried out well, without conflict and achieving security. “Then what policies will emerge,” he said.
