Indonesia crushes Brunei Darussalam 12-0 in the AFF Futsal Cup

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Indonesian national futsal team crushed Brunei Darussalam with a score of 12-0 in the AFF Futsal Cup Group A match in Bangkok, Thailand, Sunday.

The result leaves Indonesia, trained by Iranian tactician Mohammad Hashemzadeh, in second place in the standings with three points behind Group A leaders, Thailand, who have won six points from two matches.

In the match against Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia appeared dominant from the first minute and won 7-0 until the match entered the break.

“Garuda” squad made five goals in the second half to bring a 12-0 win.

There were four Indonesian players who each scored two goals in the match, namely Evan Soumilena, Syauqi Saud, Ardiansyah Runtuboy and Dewa Rizki.

Other goals came from Rio Pangestu, Sunny Rizky, Ardiansyah Nur and an own goal from an opposing player, Khalil.

Next, Monday (4/4), Indonesia will face Malaysia. Malaysia is now in third place in Group A with three points after beating Cambodia 7-6.

Nine countries will participate in the 2022 AFF Futsal Cup, of which five are in Group A, namely Indonesia, Thailand (host), Malaysia, Cambodia and Brunei Darussalam.

While Group B contains Vietnam, Myanmar, East Timor and Australia.

The tournament is one of the qualifications for the 2022 AFC Asian Futsal Cup which will be held in Kuwait. Later, the three best teams from the 2022 AFF Futsal Cup will qualify for the Asian level competition. (mhn/bbs)
