Governor HD: South Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a Strategic Partner of the Government, Strengthens the Community Economic Empowerment Sector

Palembang, The Indonesia Post — Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru officially opened the Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) of the South Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), which was combined with the launch of the Cheap Food Movement and the Inauguration of the MBG South Sumatra Kitchen, which took place at Transmart Palembang, Tuesday (21/10/2025).

In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru expressed his appreciation to the South Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) which he considered to have demonstrated a strong commitment as a strategic partner of the regional government, not only in strengthening the economic sector, but also in providing real benefits to the community.

“This event is not only a momentum to showcase the potential of the business world in South Sumatra, but also a tangible manifestation of KADIN’s concern for the community through the Affordable Food Movement and MBG Kitchen programs, which we are inaugurating together today,” said Herman Deru.

The Governor emphasized that the Affordable Food Movement is crucial in maintaining the stability of staple food prices and helping people obtain their necessities at affordable prices.

He also appreciated KADIN’s steps, which he said were not only oriented towards business and profit, but also prioritized social responsibility, solidarity, and concern for others.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, expressed his admiration for industrial growth in South Sumatra, which he said was above the national average. (mhn/ril)
