Regional Secretary Edward Candra Welcomes the South Sumatran Delegation After Winning 3rd Place in the 28th Southeast Sulawesi National Championship

Palembang, The Indonesia Post — An atmosphere of emotion and pride was felt in the VVIP Room of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang on Sunday (19/10/2025). When the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province, H. Edward Candra, welcomed the arrival of the South Sumatra Kafilah who had just achieved a brilliant achievement at the 28th National Selection of Qur’an and Hadith Recitation (STQH) in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

A caravan from South Sumatra successfully brought honor to the region by winning third place at this prestigious national event. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the participants, coaches, and accompanying committee in preparing to represent South Sumatra at the national level.

In his remarks, Regional Secretary Edward Candra expressed his gratitude and pride for the achievements of the caravans.
“Thank God, we welcome the caravans with pride for this extraordinary achievement. On behalf of the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru and Deputy Governor H. Cik Ujang, and all levels of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, I congratulate them on their success in achieving third place nationally. This is the result of hard work, sincerity, and togetherness from all parties,” he said.

The Regional Secretary also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties who have provided support, starting from the South Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, the South Sumatra LPTQ, to the parents of the participants who continue to pray for and accompany their best sons and daughters.

“Hopefully, this achievement can be maintained and improved in the future, so that South Sumatra will be increasingly known as a religious and high-achieving region,” he added.

Also present at the reception were Assistant I of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, H. Sunarto, Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, H. Safitri Irwan, and several other officials who presented awards and congratulations to the pilgrims. (mhn/ril)
