Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru officially opened the 2025 Legally Aware Family Competition (Kadarkum) for high school/vocational school students throughout South Sumatra Province, which took place at the Swarna Dwipa Hotel in Palembang, Wednesday (22/10).
In a spirited and friendly atmosphere, Governor Herman Deru warmly welcomed the participants from 17 regencies and cities across South Sumatra. He commended the students’ enthusiasm, who are part of a generation that has been legally aware from an early age.
“Welcome to all participants of the Legally Aware Family Competition. Your presence brings positive energy and makes this event more lively and meaningful,” said Herman Deru.
The Governor emphasized that the Kadarkum competition is not just a competition, but also an educational tool to foster a legally literate society that understands the rights and obligations of citizens, and avoids various unlawful acts.
“By increasing legal awareness, we hope that the number of violations and crimes will continue to decrease. A society that understands the law will be more civilized, orderly, and respectful of each other,” he added.
Herman Deru also encouraged participants to use this competition as a momentum to strengthen their enthusiasm for learning and understanding the law as a vital part of social, national, and state life.
“Let’s use this event as a first step to continue learning and understanding the law. This is where a generation will emerge who can be role models in upholding the values of justice,” the Governor urged.
The 2025 Kadarkum Competition is expected to strengthen the synergy between local governments, the education sector, and the community in building national legal awareness towards the realization of a society that is legally literate and has Pancasila character.
Also present at the event were the Head of the South Sumatra Legal Office, Maju Amintas Siburian, the Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) within South Sumatra Province, and the Heads of Legal Affairs from regencies and cities throughout South Sumatra, who also supported the event.
