The Chair of the South Sumatra Legislative Council Asks the Palembang City Government to Give Looseness to Street Small Medium Enterprises

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The chairman of the Legislative Council (DPRD) South Sumatra (Sumsel) Hj RA Anita Noeringhati asked the City Government (Pemkot) of Palembang to provide leeway for street SMEs in paying retribution.

“Take action if they don’t want to pay the levy but there is a report to me that the levy has been paid but he doesn’t want to, what does that mean, for the street vendors to be given leeway first they just want to live, you know, I ask especially the City Government, please give space for street vendors,” said the Golkar party politician, Friday (11/2).

Where these street vendors are always levied because there is a Regional Regulation (Perda) but leeway must be given so that there is no coercion.

“Now it’s not a handful of people, but all of them find it difficult to make a living,” she said.

Due to difficult conditions, Anita hopes that the Palembang City Government will differentiate the restaurant tax between street restaurants and restaurants in the form of a restaurant.

Anita admitted that during the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone was in trouble, so under these conditions local wisdom had to be formed and communication between regions had to be carried out.

“I’m talking about communication, in the past, there were patrols while meeting up, while chatting, it had to be reactivated,” she said. (ojn/bbs/ril)
