Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru opened the 15th South Sumatra Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) 2025 at the Serasan Sekate Sekayu Stadium, Musi Banyuasin, Saturday (18/10/2025)
Herman Deru in his speech praised Musi Banyuasin Regency for its extraordinary work starting from the Regent, Deputy Regent, Regional Secretary and the support of the entire Musi Banyuasin community has proven that the implementation of the XV PORPROV South Sumatra has run smoothly and spectacularly.
“On behalf of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, I would like to congratulate you. This event is not only intended to attract the best athletes from all regencies/cities in South Sumatra, but also to prepare athletes to participate in higher competitions at the national and international levels,” said HD.
HD also reminded all athletes to maintain sportsmanship, the athlete’s promise, that we all want to win.

Meanwhile, MUBA Regent Toha Tohet said that this event has an economic impact through increasing the turnover of MSMEs, accommodation, infrastructure, sports facilities which are long-term regional assets and open up job opportunities during the event.
The report from the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of KONI, represented by the General Secretary of KONI South Sumatra, Tubagus Sulaiman, reported that the South Sumatra PORPROV is a biennial event participated in by 17 regencies/cities which will take place from October 18 to 31, 2025.
