Palembang, The Indonesia Post – In order to provide space and channel their talents for lovers of Grass Track Motorbikes, Road Race and BMX, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru in collaboration with the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) of South Sumatra reviewed the land that is planned to be made into a Grass Track arena in August 2025.
the review was to directly ensure the feasibility and readiness of the land in the Jakabring Sport City Palembang area. Monday, 12/05/2025.
“We are looking for a way out for children who have motorcycling talents, so that they can channel their talents on the right path, so we challenge IMI to organize which for the beginning we will hold the Grass Track first and then the Road Race later,” he said
He hopes that later if a permanent place has been prepared, young people will no longer hold illegal racing on the streets which can be dangerous.
“but with proper planning, so young people will not be racing on the streets anymore, so the government facilitates that,” he said while reviewing the land that will be the place for the Grass Track and Road Race arenas.
Meanwhile, Secretary of IMI South Sumatra Chandra Dewana on the sidelines of accompanying the land review said he felt challenged by the concern and desire of the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru to provide space for young people to channel their hobbies in the world of motorbikes. (ojn/ril)
