The Difference Between Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo in Handling Covid-19

Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – A politician from PDI Perjuangan party, Jhonny Simanjuntak, recently reviewed the differences between the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. What is reviewed is a comparison of performance and communication style in dealing with COVID-19.

Quoted from Merdeka.com, Jhonny said, in handling Covid-19, Anies did not go directly to the community, both to check the implementation of the provincial government policy and to provide education to the public. On the other hand, Ganjar said that he was more active in going directly to the community to ensure that all coordination went well.

In fact, he said, policy oversight is in the elements of government closest to the community such as neighborhood (RT / RW).

“Anies doesn’t want to go to the field, he just talks on TV. When in fact our base of supervision is the basis for educating people in RW. This is what we have to think about,” said Jhony.

“How do we educate the public with this moment of relaxation really affirmation but also socialization. Socialization is humanistic. The styles of Ganjar (Ganjar Pranowo) are Central Java. jump into society,” he continued.

The PDI-P politician’s statement then reaped the reaction of political parties. Because it’s not right to compare the character of a leader with other leaders because the area being led is also different.

“Never think narrowly about the personality or personality of a leader. Every leader has a style, has a different strategy, also has different successes and legacy,” said Republic of Indonesia house of the representative from Democratic member Didik Mukrianto.

Personal students think it is not wise to compare and contrast the steps of the leaders or regional heads. Because leadership style and strategy are the cash characteristics that every leader has.

“For me, making a comparative study based on it should not be subjective. Must be a balanced and complete methodology and parameters, carried out by independent, neutral, and competent parties. In addition, what should also be considered? Because without it all results tend to be subjective,” continued Students.

The Golkar Party also agrees to Didik’s statement. Not only Anies and Ganjar who have different ways of working, but the two regional heads were also not appropriate when compared to governors outside of Java.

“Both Anies, Ganjar, Ridwan Kamil, or Khofifah, are relatively different from regional heads from non-Javanese, for example, Arinal in Lampung or like Isran Noor in East Kalimantan who uses a spokesman. Everything is legitimate, primarily the result and public response,” said Golkar Politician Bobby A Rizaldi.

Andre Rosiade, from the Gerindra Party, also did not agree with the work of a regional head compared to other regional heads. Although acknowledging Ganjar’s performance often goes down to the community, that does not mean Anies is just sitting behind a desk just giving a speech.

Separately, the Observer and Communication Practitioner, Bagus Sudarmanto, assessed that the comments of the PDIP politician who compared Anies and Ganjar’s communication style were not merely negative criticisms. According to him, comparing one’s communication style is a natural and unique thing.

“It’s natural and unique. We have so many local cultures with different spoken languages. So that the situation leads regional heads to have to adjust to being accepted,” Bagus said.

Bagus said the differences in communication styles between regional heads cannot be separated from the context of locality, social, and culture. Both in the form of gesture and oral communication styles that are familiar in the eyes of the public.

“Jurinya is a direct community. It could be that this empathy communication model was born that was suitable in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. (ras/bbs)
