Minister of Home Affairs inaugurated Acting (Pj) Governor of South Sumatra Province

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian officially inaugurated Acting (Pj) Governor of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) Dr. Agus Fatoni, M.Si at the Sasana Bhakti Praja Building, Ministry of Home Affairs Headquarters, Monday (2/10) morning.

The inauguration of Dr Agus Fatoni, M.Si as Acting Governor of South Sumatra by the Minister of Home Affairs refers to Presidential Decree or Presidential Decree no. 87/P/2023 concerning Appointment of Acting Governor.

On the same occasion, A. P. Widyaningtyas Fatoni, the Acting Head of the South Sumatra Province Family Welfare Development Team (TP), A. P. Widyaningtyas Fatoni, was inaugurated by the General Chair of the TP PKK, Tri Tito Karnavian.

After inaugurating the Acting Governor of South Sumatra and the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian expressed his congratulations to the Acting Governor who had just been inaugurated.

According to the Minister of Home Affairs. The inauguration of the Acting Governor is in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor who have ended their terms of office, as well as the decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the appointment of the Acting Governor with a maximum term of office of one year.

The Minister of Home Affairs admitted that the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Dr. Agus Fatoni, M.Si has experience as acting Governor, having previously served as Acting Governor of North Sulawesi.

Especially for South Sumatra Province, continued the Minister of Home Affairs, to continue doing priority things, such as building roads, ports, and most importantly and crucially, following up on handling forest and land fires (Karhutla).

Mendagari specifically expressed his thanks to the pair of Governor-Deputy Governor of South Sumatra for the 2018-2023 period who have ended their term of office.

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Dr. Agus Fatoni, M.Si emphasized that after being officially inaugurated he would immediately carry out his duties in accordance with the directions of the Minister of Home Affairs. In particular reducing stunting, controlling inflation, reducing poverty and extreme poverty and most importantly controlling forest and land fires (Karhutla). (mhn/ril)
