Singapore’s daily local COVID cases tripled

Singapore, The Indonesia Post – Singaporean authorities on Friday (4/2) reported a record 13,046 local COVID-19 cases which tripled from the day before.

Authorities recorded 85,357 cases over the past 28 days, but 99.7 percent of them were asymptomatic or had only mild symptoms.

The Singapore government has fully vaccinated 89 percent of their population, while 59 percent of the population has received booster vaccines.

Authorities had previously warned that daily cases of COVID-19 could jump to 15,000 due to the highly contagious variant of Omicron. (ojn/bbs)
