South Sumatra Governor Welcomes BTN Commissioners, Explores Housing Cooperation Opportunities

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru welcomed a visit from the Board of Commissioners of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), led by Pietra Machreza Paloh, at Griya Agung Palembang on Tuesday (Sept. 16).

In his remarks, Governor Deru extended greetings to BTN’s leadership, noting that although no concrete partnership has yet been established between BTN and the provincial government, there are many opportunities to explore.

“BTN is strongly associated with housing finance programs, while housing needs—particularly for civil servants and the broader community—remain a critical issue that requires solutions. Therefore, we are encouraging the Housing and Settlement Agency to partner with BTN so that the welfare of civil servants and the public can be improved,” he said.

The governor also expressed hope that BTN would take the initiative in developing, financing, and distributing livable housing across South Sumatra. He stressed that BTN’s involvement would play a significant role in accelerating the availability of affordable and quality housing.

Also present at the meeting were Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Head Regina Ariyanti, Regional Financial and Asset Agency (BPKAD) Head Yossi Hervandi, Head of Public Relations and Protocol Tony Kurniawan, and Acting Head of General Affairs and Equipment Darmayanti. (mhn/ril)
