Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru received an audience with the board of directors of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk at Griya Agung, Palembang, on Thursday (April 2, 2026). The meeting discussed strengthening synergies in accelerating the development of Tanjung Carat Port, South Sumatra’s main commodity gateway.
In his directive, Governor Herman Deru emphasized that administratively, the development plan had entered the final stages. However, he reminded everyone to carefully review the documentation to avoid future legal challenges.
“We welcome this collaboration, but I remind you that legal aspects must be strictly followed. We already have a clear plan and a clear vision. All steps must comply with regulations to avoid future problems,” Herman Deru emphasized.
He has high hopes that PT Bukaka and the consortium team can realize this port not only for the aesthetics of the region, but also as a major legacy that answers the real needs of regional commodity distribution.
“We must adhere to a strict timeline. I want us to be aligned in our steps to further this region’s grand ideals. Let’s carefully examine each step to ensure our targets are achieved without error,” he added.
Meanwhile, Portfolio Director of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk, Budi Hartono, outlined the company’s profile, which was established in 1978. He also highlighted the company’s track record of national-scale infrastructure investments as a strong asset in supporting projects in South Sumatra.
Also present at the event were the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of South Sumatra, Edward Candra, along with the heads of relevant regional government agencies (OPD) within the South Sumatra Provincial Government. (mhn/ril)
