Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – Chairman of the Covid-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Doni Monardo said that young people under 45 years had the potential to transmit the coronavirus. The reason is that this age group has a high level of mobility.
But this statement contradicts what Doni said earlier. At that time he said the age group under 45 years was not prone to exposure to corona. Therefore, they are allowed to continue working in the middle of a pandemic in order to suppress the Termination of Employment (FLE).
However, Doni emphasized that the age group below 45 years still apply health protocols to prevent transmission to families and others around him.
The Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) also asked this age group to keep a distance from family and people around and always maintain cleanliness when entering the house after work.
“Even at home, you must be able to perform health protocols, keep a distance, including when you are about to enter the house, take off your shoes, take off items that can endanger other residents of the house. We must remind this,” he said.
According to Doni, the risk of coronavirus transmission can occur in any age group. Therefore, he reminded him to continue to run health protocols and keep a distance wherever located.
“Whether those above 46 years old or including those under 45 years must really understand that they are people who are at risk of infecting other families,” he was quoted as saying from CNNIndonesia.com.
Reflecting on the data of the Task Force for the acceleration of handling Covid-19, people under the age of 45 years are actually contributing the most positive cases of coronavirus in Indonesia.
The task force divides the corona virus-positive patients into several age groups, namely 0-5 years, 6-17 years, 18-30 years, 31-45 years, 46-59 years, and 60 years or more.
From these data, the number of positive patients at the age of 31-45 years was 4,123. While the number of positive patients at the age of 18-30 years was 2,696 people. Thus positive patients in the two age groups reached 6,819 people or 47.8 percent of the total positive cases.
Most of them underwent treatment in a hospital or independent isolation and have been declared cured of coronavirus infection. While patients in the two age groups who died as many as 14.1 percents. (jekki/bbs)
