Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs: Pre-Employment Card Program Can Create New Jobs

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the Pre-Employment Card program plays a very important role in creating new jobs so that it can help restore the national economy.

“I would like to thank the Pre-Employment Card alumni who have applied their knowledge to entrepreneurship so as to help the government create jobs during this pandemic,” he said in Jakarta, Friday.

Airlangga said the Pre-Employment Card program helps the government to achieve the national entrepreneurship ratio target of 3.9 percent and new entrepreneurship growth of 4 percent in 2024.

Data from an independent survey stated that after participating in the Pre-Employment Card program, there was an increase of 13 percent in the number of entrepreneurial groups.

Not only that, he said the Pre-Employment Card program also has advantages, namely skilling, upskilling, and reskilling.

“The policies implemented by the government are expected to have a maximum impact on the community,” he said.

What’s more, alumni of the Pre-Employment Card program also have the opportunity to benefit from People’s Business Credit (KUR) with a maximum interest of only 3 percent to develop their business.

“Take advantage of this opportunity. Develop the business so that it has a maximum impact on the wheels of the national economy,” he said.

Deputy for Macroeconomic and Financial Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Iskandar Simorangkir said the realization of KUR had reached Rp103.19 trillion from early January to 2 June 2021.

This figure is 40.79 percent of the 2021 target of IDR 253 trillion given to 2.81 million debtors so that the total outstanding KUR since August 2015 is IDR 259.05 trillion with a Non Performing Loan (NPL) rate of 0.71 percent.

“Nationally, the realization of KUR distribution for Pre-Employment Card alumni per quarter I-2021 carried out by BRI and BNI reached 2,242 debtors with a total realization of Rp. 65.9 billion,” he explained. (rmt/bbs)
