Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Actor Will Smith, who has been nominated for best actor, hit Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Oscars after the comedian joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Chris, who took the stage to read the winning documentary, joked about Jada Pinkett Smith as “G.I. Jane” because of her bald head.
Smith then took the stage to punch Rock. Though it looks like he’s joking at first, Smith returns to his chair and yells angrily at Rock, “Don’t say my wife’s name with your asshole!”
Many of the Oscar-goers were stunned by their interactions. Diddy who became the presenter after Rock, to present the 50th anniversary of “The Godfather”, said, “Will and Chris, we will finish it like a family. Now, let’s continue with love.”
Jada Pinkett Smith announced last year she was shaving her hair off because of alopecia, according to Variety. (mhn/bbs)
