Palembang, Berita Rakyat Sumatra – South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru released the departure of hundreds of Islamic boarding school students (Santri) and Gontor students from South Sumatra to return to their boarding school (Pesantren) in East Java.
The release of the students who were about to leave was held at the Sriwijaya Jakabaring Gelora yard, Palembang. The departure is also known to be the second wave of departure. Where previously in the first wave of pafa on Monday, June 15, 2020, the Darussalam Gontor Sumsel Modern Family Association (IKPM) had also sent hundreds of students to return to Gontor.
“Before this departure, both the first wave and the current second wave, the South Sumatra Provincial Government had conducted several levels of medical examinations for the Santri and students. Including conducting rapid tests to ensure their health, “said governor HD in the activity.
According to him, from the results of the rapid test, all students and students who were dispatched his health was quite good.
“Thank God, everyone is healthy. We have facilitated this examination since they first returned to South Sumatra a few months ago. At that time, we also conducted rapid tests and quarantine them, “he said.
The Gontor Islamic Boarding School itself has gradually received back its students who will continue their education.
“Gontor gradually receives back his students. Of course, this is good news for those students and parents after previously these students could only get education from home due to the COVID-19 outbreak, “he explained.
Despite being able to return to continuing education, HD still advised Santri and students to continue to implement health protocols in each of their activities.
“But health protocols must also be applied. Because the epidemic itself is not over, “he added.
Not only that, he also reminded students to continue to take education seriously so that it can be useful in the future.
“Nature is ordering you. So draw knowledge in as many people as possible and bring it back to your area of origin so that you can benefit yourself and others, “he hoped.
As a leader, he claimed to be proud to see an increasing number of South Sumatran teenagers who were aware of religious knowledge. That certainly pushed Sumsel to become religious.
“As a leader, of course, I am very proud. South Sumatra will be more religious. The students must become the eradication of hypocrisy and radical with the knowledge they have. It is time for us to move forward, but not abandon sharia law and religious morals, “he explained.
Meanwhile, Chairman of IKPM Darussalam Gontor Sumsel Hendrawan Muhammad Ilyas said, in this second wave at least 336 students from South Sumatra were dispatched to Gontor.
“And in the first wave, there were 310 people we left. There are 600 more students and students from South Sumatra who are currently studying in Gontor, “said Hendra.
In addition, he also expressed his appreciation to the Governor of South Sumatra and his staff who had facilitated medical tests for students who were members of IKPM Darussalam Gontor Sumsel.
“Of course we would like to thank the Governor who facilitated the rapid test, especially to students who want to leave,” he said.
Even as a form of appreciation, IKPM Darussalam Gontor Sumsel also appointed the Governor as an honorary member.
“This is a form of our appreciation. Hopefully, this can be useful for all of us, “he concluded. (jekk/rel)
