Vaccination, President Jokowi: Hopefully it can reduce the spread rate of the pandemic in Tana Toraja

Toraja, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo reviewed the implementation of the mass vaccination held at the Ge’tengan public health (Puskesmas), Mengkendek District, Tana Toraja Regency, during his working visit to South Sulawesi Province on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

At that location, vaccinations are taking place for public officials and workers as well as the elderly (elderly), whose implementation has started in stages since Monday (15/3) yesterday.

“I visited in order to see the vaccination process that is in here. So today it is in the process of working for 11,000 people, which previously had also worked for 6,000 people, so a total of 17,000, “said the President when giving a statement after the review.

For information, the mass vaccination which is given free of charge is carried out simultaneously at 20 health centers throughout Tana Toraja on Thursday (18/3). Local authorities have obtained as many as 11,000 vials of the Covid-19 vaccine from South Sulawesi Province which are expected to be completed in the next few days.

“Earlier I saw that the process was running smoothly, the vaccines were ready to be available, the officers were also ready. We hope that the process will continue until it is finished in this regency, ”said the Head of State.

“We hope that with the vaccination process, we can reduce the rate of spread of Covid-19 in Tana Toraja Regency,” he added.

After this vaccination review, President Joko Widodo and his limited entourage will immediately depart for Makassar City to continue a series of working visits.

Also accompanying the President on this occasion were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Plt. Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, and Regent of Tana Toraja Theofilus Allorerung. (mhn/bbs)
