Tempted to Cheap Masks, an Indonesian Women Received Broken Bulb

Palembang, TheIndonesiaPost – Fraud on purchases of medical devices continue to occur in the war of corona pandemic. The desire to be able to protect selves from disease is actually benefited by some  unresponsible people

That happened to Nora Lestari. The 21-year-old woman suffered a loss of Rp 4 million after her mask order was replaced with a used bulb.

To the police, the resident of Ilir Timur I District of Palembang hoped that the perpetrators could be arrested to account for his actions.

“I ordered ten boxes, the mask brand Sensi. My total purchase of four million,” said Nora to SPKT Palembang Police on Thursday (16/4) quoted from Merdeka.com.

Nora explained, the incident occurred after she was tempted by the mask offered by the perpetrator on a Facebook account named M Saparudin. Because the price is cheap, he intends to resell the mask.

He then ordered 10 boxes of Sensi brand masks. The total purchase is Rp 4 million.

In addition to the cheap price, the victim put confidence because the perpetrator sent a photo of his KTP and claimed that the mask warehouse was located in KM 12 Palembang. He then sent money to BNI on behalf of Silvia Astuti. Then he asked for goods ordered to be sent via delivery service. But when the package arrives and is opened, the contents are not masks but used bulbs.

“I tried to call to confirm, but my number has been blocked. I’ve been fooled,” he regretted.
