153.6 million people have received the full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported that 153,649,398 Indonesians had received the full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of Saturday at 12.00 WIB.

Based on data quoted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Saturday, the number of complete doses was obtained after an increase of 201,247 people.

Furthermore, as many as 194,559,612 people have received the first dose, after the addition of 122,093 people.

The third dose (booster) also increased by 91,323 people, bringing the total number of residents who received the third dose to 16,096,488 people.

Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha asked for the role of nurses throughout Indonesia to help the government comb through the remaining COVID-19 vaccination participants from vulnerable communities in remote areas.

“Our focus is the elderly, people with comorbidities and those who have not been vaccinated. Vaccination of the elderly needs to work with nurses, especially remote areas through the support of the TNI-Polri to reach out,” said Kunta.

Kunta said Indonesia still leaves vaccinations in the outermost, underdeveloped, frontier (3T) areas due to geographical challenges. As a result, there are still people in remote areas who have not been touched by the vaccine and the target for vaccination coverage for the elderly is still low.

Therefore, he asked for the role of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) in each region to comb through the remaining communities.

“Because the fewer the number of targets, the more difficult it is,” he said. (ojn/bbs)
