Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – The news about the current condition of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un increasingly confused. Some reports say Kim has died. Some others report the opposite condition. Some even began to discuss who will be the successor candidate.
The confusion eventually forced North Korea to speak. Quoting from CNN, Monday (4/27/2020), the South Korean side stated that the latest condition of Kim Jong Un was in good condition and healthy.
South Korean President’s foreign policy adviser, Moon Chung-in, stated that Kim Jong Un was still alive and well. He has been in Wonsan since April 13 and said there had been no suspicious activity so far.
According to North Korean state media, KCNA, Kim Jong Un’s last appearance in public was during a politburo meeting on April 11.
The Daily NK report, an online newspaper in South Korea, said Kim Jong Un had just undergone cardiovascular surgery due to smoking, obesity, and fatigue.
Meanwhile, the North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun on Sunday, released a statement Kim Jong Un thanked workers who helped the renovation process of Samjiyon City, North Korea. But CNN still can’t confirm the truth of this news. (ras/bbs)
