Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The population of Indonesia who has undergone the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination currently reaches 146,554,884 after 350,743 people received the second dose today, based on data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas).
Data received in Jakarta on Friday also showed that an additional 521,033 people underwent the first vaccination, bringing 191,631,442 Indonesians to have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The recipients of the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine as a booster also increased to 11,457,714 people, an increase of 133,441 people compared to Thursday (3/3).
The government is targeting 208,265,720 people to get two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to gain communal immunity from the disease that attacks the respiratory system.
The COVID-19 Handling Task Force also reported the addition of 26,347 new cases today, accompanied by reports of 40,462 recovered patients and 328 deaths.
Indonesia also received 3,499,470 doses of Pfizer vaccine today, a donation from the United States.
Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, said that the arrival of the vaccine in early March was to meet domestic needs.
“Almost 3.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccine we received from the United States Government, which arrived through two stages of arrival,” said Usman in a press statement received in Jakarta.
A total of 2,300,220 doses of vaccine landed on Friday at 02.00 WIB, which is the arrival of the 204th stage of the vaccine. The arrival of 1,199,250 doses of vaccine on the same day at 15.45 WIB or the arrival of the 205th stage. (ojn/bbs)
