Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma’ruf Amin said that the Government continues to be committed to improving the welfare of the people of Papua and West Papua, at least being equal to the prosperity of other regions.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin made this point when he appointed 1,000 Papuans and groups of people with disabilities as employees of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) at the Palace of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Tuesday.
“I would like to reiterate that the Government remains firmly upholding and implementing its commitment to build and improve the welfare of the Land of Papua in line with other regions,” said Vice President Ma’ruf in Jakarta, Tuesday.
This commitment, the Vice President continued, would not be possible without the support of various elements of the nation, especially from the people of Papua and West Papua.
Therefore, Ma’ruf Amin hopes and invites all elements of the nation to come together to provide the best support and maintain a conducive atmosphere so that the accelerated welfare development program in Papua and West Papua can be carried out as soon as possible.
The latest affirmative policy for the Land of Papua, according to the Vice President, was carried out with the stipulation of Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Welfare Development in Papua and West Papua Provinces and Presidential Decree Number 20 of 2020 concerning Integrated Coordination Teams for the Acceleration of Welfare Development in Papua and Papua Provinces West.
The Vice President also gave his appreciation to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the Ministry of Development Planning (PPN) / National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for conducting special recruitment for the people of Papua and West Papua.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin appointed 1,000 Papuans and groups of people with disabilities as employees. This is a manifestation of the Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Papua and West Papua.
