Food Commodities in South Sumatra are Safe and Controlled

PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – The Central Government provides food commodities in every Province in Indonesia and will safe for until the next year, 2021. No exception in the Province of South Sumatra, declared safe and controlled.

The Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian, in a teleconference with the Provincial Governments of Indonesia, including the South Sumatra Province, ensured that food supplies in South Sumatra, such as rice and corn, are safe and sufficient for the next year.

South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru, represented by the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province Nasrun Umar reported to the Minister of the Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, that the primary product commodity in South Sumatra is safe and sufficient for 6 months to one year into the future. For product needs, continued Nasrun, everything is safe in South Sumatra because this province is a producer of rice, corn, and other commodities. “For some products that must be imported from outside the region, such as sugar and garlic, continue to be monitored so that the commodity is always available in South Sumatra,” Nasrun said.

Regarding the food report, based on the latest commodity data regarding food prices in South Sumatra, it has been recorded stable. “Commodity data in South Sumatra are all safe and stable. We also anticipate food vulnerable areas in 17 regencies / cities in South Sumatra, all are stable. We also monitor national logistic supply organization in Traditional Markets, and increase the absorption of the harvest, carry out the operation of the farm shop market, to ensure that local products are maintained, “said Regional Secretary, Nasrun Umar.
