Seoul, The Indonesia Post – South Korea from June 8 will lift quarantine requirements for unvaccinated overseas visitors, and begin lifting regulations imposed on international flights.
However, the local government will still maintain the requirement for a negative PCR test result before entering South Korea and a PCR test within 72 hours after arrival.
“While there is an 8-day quarantine obligation for foreign arrivals who were not vaccinated until now, the requirement will be removed from June 8 regardless of their vaccination status,” Prime Minister Han Duck-soo said during a meeting on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday.
He also said the COVID-19 situation in South Korea had stabilized.
Han said any flight regulations imposed at Incheon International Airport will be lifted from June 8 to ensure that flights can operate on time.
The reason is that current flight restrictions and flight operating times have caused inconveniences such as lack of tickets and rising prices. (mhn/bbs)
