Recipients of the third dose of vaccine reach 63.46 million Indonesians

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that the number of Indonesians who had received the third or booster dose reached 63.46 million as of Thursday, 12.00 WIB.

Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta on Thursday noted that the number of residents who had received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 69,539 people, bringing it to a total of 63,466,363 people.

Thus, it is recorded that an injection of a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been given to 27.05 percent of the total population targeted for COVID-19 vaccination to 234,666,020 people.

Meanwhile, the population who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 20,905 people to 171,161,526 people, which covered 72.94 percent of the total target.

While the recipients of the first dose increased by 21,071 people, bringing the total number to 204,556,520 people or had been given to 87.17 percent of the total target.

For the fourth vaccination, which is currently still targeting health workers, there were an addition of 4,747 people. A total of 608,860 people have undergone the fourth vaccination.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Syahril, said that the scope of COVID-19 vaccination services in Indonesia would be expanded by targeting foreign nationals (WNA) as an effort to protect the public from the risk of transmission.

“As one of our efforts to ensure that foreigners who live or stay temporarily and permanently have easy access to vaccinations, as well as to prevent possible transmission,” he said.

The policy is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number HK.01.07/MENKES/1368/2022 concerning the Implementation of COVID-19 Vaccination for Foreigners, starting in September 2022 in various available health care facilities. (mhn/bbs)
