Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Chairman of Commission I House of Representatives (DPR RI) Meutya Hafid fully supports the 2021 ASEAN Leaders Meeting in Jakarta on Saturday, April 24, 2021, as a concrete solution to the conflict currently occurring in Myanmar. The meeting, which was attended by leaders from seven countries, including General Min Aung Hlaing from Myanmar in his capacity as Chairman of the Myanmar State Administration Council, is also expected to provide concrete solutions.
“We, the DPR, support the implementation of the ASEAN Leaders Meeting. Where this agenda is an initiative of President Joko Widodo to jointly find solutions to solve the crisis in Myanmar. We hope that ASEAN countries can provide the best and concrete way so that violence in Myanmar can be stopped immediately, ”Meutya said in a press statement.
For this reason, the Golkar Party politician hopes for support from all people in ASEAN, especially Indonesia regarding the implementation of the 2021 ASEAN Leaders Meeting.
“The people of Indonesia and ASEAN need to support the implementation of this event, and support the decisions resulting from the 2021 ASEAN Leaders Meeting,” said the legislator for the North Sumatra I electoral district.
