Surabaya, TheIndonesiaPost – East Java Province began to prepare for large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). But before that was carried out, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa asked for curfew rules in three areas of Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Gresik to be harmonized.
“The implementation must be unified, this is important. If for example these three areas, one, for example, imposing a curfew, yes all three should do the same thing,” Khofifah said in the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, Sunday (26/4).
Likewise, in other rules. Namely about transportation restrictions, especially two-wheeled vehicles or online motorcycle taxis (ojol). Khofifah said, if there is one area that prohibits ojol from carrying a ride, then the other two regions must implement the same thing.
“Because these [three regions] have connectivity and mobility that are not separated even though they are administratively different. Therefore, synchronization, alignment, integration of these three regions will determine the effectiveness of the CBDR,” she said.
In the East Java Governor Regulation number 18 of 2020, there was no specific mention of the curfew rules. However, Sidoarjo Regency Government applies these rules starting from 21:00 to 04:00 WIB, residents are prohibited from activities. However, Surabaya and Gresik are known not to implement the same thing.
East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Luki Hermawan said that he also found differences from the three regencies/city regulations. He also asked the district government and city government to immediately revise and equate perceptions.
“The Governor mentioned earlier, so from each exposure, there were differences in actions on the ground. So we ordered to revise what steps should be compared. Like Sidoarjo there is a curfew, Surabaya is not there, Gresik is the same,” he said. Luki (ras/bbs)
