Police of the Republic of Indonesia: The actions of armed criminal groups in Papua are already appalling

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The head of the National Police’s Security Intelligence Agency (Kabaintelkam), Komjen Pol Paulus Waterpauw, stated that acts of violence and acts of terror committed by armed criminals groups (KKB) in Papua were so terrible that the government labeled them terrorists.

“Their actions were terrible,” said Police Commissioner General Paulus Waterpauw in Jakarta, Monday.

The crimes committed by the KKB were not only aimed at security forces but also targeted civilians, health workers, educators, as well as burning or destroying a number of public facilities.

In fact, Komjen Pol Paulus said that the last time he went to Yahukimo, he found out that a worker who was carrying a brick was shot with an arrow by the KKB. After falling, the victim was then killed using an ax.

“After finishing the victim, his body was thrown into the river. Their actions were terrible, ”he said.

It is necessary to keep in mind the former Papua and West Papua Police Chief, the KKB is only a small group and does not represent the Papuan people.

Therefore, he asked all parties, especially the Papuan people, not to be carried away by the labeling of terrorists to the KKB because it was aimed specifically at this group and not the Papuan people in general.

“That’s just a group. They must be responsible for their actions. That is why they are sought after, “he said.

Likewise with other groups that were monitored by the Police, around four to five groups, but the process was not immediately announced and decided because it had to go through the court.

“Today they are being tested in court or the lists are being submitted with their various demands for their actions which will then be decided by the judge,” said the three-star general who was born in Fakfak, West Papua.

Finally, at this time he asked the public to remain patient with the policies that the government will take. (jek/bbs)
