Jokowi and Biden held a bilateral meeting in Bali ahead of the G20 Summit

Bali, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo and US President Joe Biden held a bilateral meeting at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Nusa Dua, Bali, Monday, ahead of the G20 Indonesia Summit.

This bilateral meeting was Jokowi’s first in a series of events at the 2022 G20 Summit in Indonesia.

Jokowi and Biden met at The Apurva Kempinski Bali at 12.30 WITA. The two shook hands and sat close together at a small round table.

Jokowi was accompanied by a number of ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan, and Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir.

“Welcome to Bali. Welcome to Indonesia. I really appreciate the presence of President Biden at the G20 Summit in Bali. Once again I really appreciate the presence of Joe Biden and tomorrow we will start holding the G20 Summit,” said Jokowi.

Jokowi expressed hope that the G20 Summit could produce concrete cooperation that could help the world in global economic recovery. (mhn/bbs)
