Lampung, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said that he has plans to create 1,000 stalls or minimarkets before the end of 2023 which will be managed by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“Before the end of the year I will build 1,000 stalls or minimarkets, the prices are the same as those marts. The goods are only supplied by modern retailers, the prices are already there,” said Zulkifli in the Socialization of the Potential of Halal Products in Bandarlampung, Thursday.
Zulkifli explained, the managed stalls would later cooperate with modern retailers to supply the products being traded. MSMEs that have local products can also leave them at the stall or modern minimarket.
Furthermore, collaboration between MSMEs and modern retail can accelerate business development. According to Zulkifli, MSMEs and modern retail will get the same benefits from this collaboration.
“This is what is called collaboration, cooperation. Everything can develop. If it is developed, there will be many jobs, the people are prosperous, purchasing power is high,” said Zulkifli.
The Minister of Trade also requested that MSMEs be a top priority in terms of financing.
According to Zulkifli, advanced MSMEs can increase national economic growth.
“I ask MSMEs to be the first priority, because developed countries have developed MSMEs. Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, all of them. Countries will be successful in progress if their MSMEs develop,” he said again.
Furthermore, Zulkifli hopes that this ecosystem can be formed quickly. Zulkifli is optimistic that MSMEs can penetrate the international market in the next few years if the ecosystem between MSME players, modern retail, banking financing and local markets collaborates.
“So one time work, an ecosystem is formed, hopefully this will be fast. Then in a year or two we can invade the international market, just like we lost to Vietnam and Thailand, the market has gone to Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, we lost,” said Zulkifli Hasan as well. (mhn/bbs)
