Refocusing the Budget, Do not Reduce the Quality of Public Services

Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – The Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) reminded that the budget refocusing policy should not reduce the quality of public services, especially in the regions.

“‘Refocusing’ is not a reason for us to be unproductive,” said Deputy of Public Service at the PAN-RB Ministry Diah Natalisa, in the Technical Guidance for Evaluating Public Services through a “video conference” with the head of service units and bureaus or parts of district/city organizations in the Province Jambi and Bengkulu, according to the written statement received by Antara.

The PAN-RB Ministry, she said, encouraged local governments to remain productive and provide the best services for the community even though all government agencies were conducting “budget refocusing”.

Diah appealed to all service providers to carry out their duties in accordance with performance agreements with various target adjustments according to the conditions of each region.

The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic, she acknowledged, forced all levels of government to change work patterns and quickly adapt to the conditions of their respective regions.

Various service units have innovated and made public service breakthroughs that do not need to be met face-to-face, and these steps are certainly adjusted to health protocols in order to break the spread of COVID-19.

“I appreciate the efforts, strategies, and innovations that have been made by the Service Unit in the context of providing services to the community,” said Diah.

In the “video conference”, technical guidance on public service evaluation policies was also carried out using Form 01.

The information provided in Form 01 contains six aspects consisting of service policy, HR professionalism, facilities and infrastructure, public service information systems, consultation and complaints, and innovation.

Completion of Form 01 can be done online through the site sipp.menpan.go.id, by each work unit.

Meanwhile, Deputy Assistant for Coordination of Implementation, Policy, and Evaluation of Region I Public Services Noviana Andrina said that the data on Form 01 is very important.

“Through Form 01 data the evaluator will know the condition of the Service Unit to be evaluated,” Noviana said, in the “video conference” which was attended by the Regional Public Hospital, Investment, and One-Stop Integrated Services Office, One-stop Administration Services Office, and the Department of Population and Civil Registration in the scope of Jambi and Bengkulu Provinces.

The activity is the beginning of a series of 2020 public service evaluations so that each public service provider unit to be evaluated is advised to be able to prepare themselves as well as possible for the achievement of excellent and quality public services. (Rel/ant)
