“China believes that maintaining its own security does not mean harming innocent civilians,” he said. “There is no way out through military means, and using violence to commit violence will only create a vicious circle.”

Blinken briefed Wang on his visit to the Middle East and the US position on the current Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Wang stressed that the top priority is to ceasefire and cool the situation as soon as possible so as not to worsen the humanitarian disaster, comply with international humanitarian law and open humanitarian aid channels.

“The fundamental way to resolve the Palestinian issue lies in implementing the ‘two-state solution’, establishing an independent Palestinian state, and realizing peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel,” Wang said, adding that China wants an international peace conference to promote the achievement of greater consensus. wide.

Wang said that in dealing with international and regional hot issues, major countries should adhere to objectivity and fairness, maintain calm and restraint, and lead and abide by international law.

Meanwhile US President Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week that Washington’s additional aid to Israel’s military was “on the way” and also updated him on the intensive diplomatic engagement the US is undertaking to support Israel, the White House said in a statement .

Blinken said that Washington supports a “two-state solution” to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli issue and supports the UN’s role in de-escalating the situation and providing humanitarian assistance. He said that the US is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China.
