The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo confirmed the availability of 329.5 million COVID-19 vaccines available, sourced from various manufacturers.
“I also need to convey about the number of vaccine doses we have ordered, the ‘firm order’ from Sinovac is 3 million plus 122.5 million (doses), then from Novavax 50 million, from Covax GAVI 54 million, AstraZeneca 50 million, from Pfizer’s 50 million vaccines means the total number of ‘firm orders’ is 329.5 million vaccines, “said President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday.
President Jokowi conveyed this in a limited meeting on the topic “Handling the COVID-19 Pandemic and Vaccination Implementation Plan” which was attended by Maju cabinet ministers and the governors participated in a “video conference”.
As many as 3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by Chinese manufacturer Sinovac have arrived in Indonesia.
The vaccine arrived in 2 batches, namely 1.2 million doses on December 6, 2020 and 1.8 million doses on December 31, 2020 and has been distributed to various regions in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Novavax is a vaccine manufacturer from the United States-Canada, then AstraZeneca is a producer from the UK and Pfizer is a vaccine from a joint pharmaceutical company from Germany and the United States.
Meanwhile, Covax GAVI is a multilateral cooperation between the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) which consists of 171 countries with a target of providing 2 billion vaccines by the end of 2021.
“The regulation will be carried out by the minister of health, therefore I ask for our readiness in the framework of vaccination to be checked and controlled by the governors,” added the President.
President Jokowi also asked the ministers and governors to work hard so that “3T” and “3M” could actually be carried out in the field.
“Once again in the field, because from the survey we are currently conducting, there is less disciplinary motivation for health protocols in the community, wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands is reduced.
