Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru said, we should be grateful and proud to the President that the impossible will come true, where the community can directly manage customary forests, social forests and Land for Agrarian Reform Objects (TORA) and South Sumatra has been trusted where the handover of Decree (SK) has been held twice.
This was conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia while attending the Submission of Decree on Customary Forest, Social Forest and Land Decree for Agrarian Reform by the President, which was followed by a virtual submission of Decree (SK) by the President at the Graha Bina Praja Pemprov Auditorium. South Sumatra, Thursday (7/1/2021)).
“This decree must be produced with Bank Himbara (Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BTN), as well as a legal and trusted way of partnering in order to get benefits from these partners,” said Governor Herman Deru (HD).
“I urge and advise, there are 26,000 hectares of land available. This must be productive. I want there to be no more land burning,” the governor appealed.
Governor Herman Deru continued, I will help the road infrastructure needs and electric lighting as well as the needs that can be allocated for the benefit of the community.
“As the President said, the governors are obliged to supervise and guide and assist in the process of issuing a decree to those entitled to have it,” said Governor Herman Deru.
In his remarks, President Joko Widodo said that The submission of the SK TORA will provide certainty for the people who have occupied and cultivated the land within the forest area within 20 years, so that the community can have legality over the land.
Also attending were the Director General of Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Rosa Vivien Ratnawati and the Heads of OPD Prov. South Sumatra. (jekk/ril)
