Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Head of the General Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Erry Hermawan, said that holding the presidential car exhibition at the Sarinah Building, Central Jakarta, is expected to attract millennials to get to know the nation’s history better.
“Sarinah is an open place, of course a lot of people, especially the millennial generation, can gather. Maybe they can see and know and there is awareness too so that there can be comparisons of historical history in the Republic of Indonesia,” said Erry in Jakarta, Saturday.
The Presidential Palace held a presidential car exhibition and presidential archives at the Sarinah Building, Central Jakarta, in commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence (HUT RI).
A total of seven official vehicles of heads of state from seven periods of the Indonesian government were exhibited in the event which lasted until August 31, 2022.
Erry hopes that this exhibition can be a means for the public to be able to see presidential cars from time to time which have been difficult to reach.
“So we held this event so that the historical objects of the 7 Presidents can be seen and appreciated by the public,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sarinah’s President Director and Retail Director, Fetty Kwartati, assessed that Sarinah is a gathering place for people from various circles, both young and adult generations.
In addition, the first shopping center in Indonesia is also full of history, so it is considered suitable as the location for the presidential car exhibition.
“Sarinah has become a melting point between generations and also combines history and modernization. This raises cars that contain a lot of history and should also be shared with all generations,” said Fetty.
“That’s why Sarinah was chosen, besides that this place is now a destination for many people, there is a lot of traffic coming to Sarinah and it feels right to show off our 7th president’s cars,” he continued.
Furthermore, Fetty said that her party will intensively promote the presidential car exhibition through various communication media channels owned to attract more visitors. (mhn/bbs)
