Sultan of Brunei arrives in Jakarta for the ASEAN Summit

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah and his companion arrived in Indonesia to take part in the 43rd ASEAN Summit 2023 which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, 5 to 7 September 2023.

The Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, Monday, informed that the plane carrying the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and his delegation had landed at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten Province, today at around 16.30 WIB.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his fourth son Prince Abdul Mateen were welcomed by the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi.

Furthermore, the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and his delegation immediately left the airport to continue other activities.

Apart from the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah, as many as five Prime Ministers (PM) in the ASEAN region are reported to have arrived in Indonesia earlier today.

They are Prime Minister of Timor Leste Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Laos Sonexay Siphandone and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.

Previously on Sunday (3/9) Prime Minister of the Cook Islands Mark Brown arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 19.25 WIB. PM Mark is scheduled to attend the 43rd ASEAN High Level Conference (KTT) in his capacity as Chair of the Pacific Island Forum (PIF). (mhn/bbs)
