Ganjar Distributes Thousands of Grocery Packages to Labor

Semarang, TheIndonesiaPost – Thousands of workers in Central Java on Friday (1/5) received food packages from the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. The distribution of food supplies to coincide with international labor day was carried out at three points.

Among these; 864 food packages were distributed to laborers who lived in Rusunawa Kudu, Semarang City. Then 300 food packages were distributed in Rendawa Gendanganak, Semarang Regency. There are also 1000 food packages distributed to Boyolali Regency.

“In this rusunawa, 75 percent is inhabited by factory workers and almost all of them have been affected. Some were laid off or laid off,” said Mujiono (65), one of the workers who lived in Rusunawa Kudu, Friday (1/5) quoted from Antara .

Mujiono admitted that he had been laid off from his job at the Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang for two weeks and that the rest of his savings during his work was used to fulfill his daily needs. “Alhamdulillah, I got food assistance from the Governor. Can help us who are affected by this corona, “he said.

Another resident, Armi (35), an employee of a garment company in Semarang Regency, claimed to have been laid off two months and did not get any salary because of the status of a contract worker. “I can’t get a salary, sir, I haven’t paid my salary in two months, even though the needs continue to exist,” she told Ganjar.

Ganjar who heard the residents’ complaints directly asked the Head of the Central Java Province Manpower and Transmigration Office Sakina Rosellasari to follow up. “Please follow up on these reports. Talk about a good solution by talking to company friends about this contract employee,” Ganjar said.

Ganjar explained that his party was deliberately using Labor Day momentum to help ease the burden on the workers who were one of the parties affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also claimed that he would invite all companies in Central Java to work together to help their workers who were affected by Covid-19, especially those who were laid off or laid off. “I am in communication with the owners of the company to work together. At least during Ramadan, workers who are laid off or laid off can be calm, hopefully, they can be realized soon,” he said. (ras/bbs)
